April has two decades of experience in the administrative/operational management space, including senior-level executive support to the C-Suite. She has managed offices of all sizes, including law firms, international and publicly traded companies, startups, and non-profits.
Her focus has always been on doing whatever it takes to support fast-paced, dynamic operations, while also ensuring workplace culture remains a top priority. Creating order from chaos is what motivates April each and every day.
As Donald Thompson’s Chief of Staff, April will be responsible for providing executive support, project management/oversight, office support/HR services, and liaising with internal and external partners on behalf of Donald across all portfolio companies. April is currently pursuing her Bachelors in Business Administration, majoring in Business Management and Entrepreneurship. You’re never too old to go back to college!
April lives in North Raleigh with her husband, two children, Harrison & Gwen, a dog, a cat, and a bunch of fish.
Why DEI? Growing up, I wasn’t always heard, seen, and valued. I learned at a young age that I had to step outside of my comfort zone to break down barriers to have my own “voice”. That said, coming into adulthood, it was quite evident that I wasn’t alone and I knew that I wanted to be part of the solution. I’m incredibly fortunate to be working alongside the incredible team at The Diversity Movement as I know I’m in good company with change-makers, positive allies, and those who break down barriers for others each and every day.
