Amber Keister

WRITER, EDITOR, CREATOR, and GENERAL NOSY-PANTS

Amber Keister (she/her) believes that everyone has a story to tell, and that these stories can create common ground between people who appear to be chasms apart. As a Certified Diversity Executive and Content Strategist, she writes, researches, and edits our articles, guides, videos, and more. She also interviews DEI experts and shares their expertise. Amber has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

She has previously worked as an editor, writer, graphic designer, and copy editor, most recently for a regional lifestyle magazine in Cary, N.C. Amber also co-hosts the Peak City Podcast, a public affairs program in Apex, N.C. She is a wife, mother, yogi, and a voracious reader.

Why DEI?: Because, no matter how old I get, I will always be that small child crying, “It’s not fair!” But unlike that child, I can and will work to make our world a more just and equitable place.
