Why Microlearning Works

Microlearning has been proven to improve focus and support long-term information retention by up to 80%. Microlearning helps time-crunched professionals make progress incrementally within the flow of their work. Rather than tackling an entire topic at once, microlearning breaks important points down into easily-digestible pieces. Education doesn’t have to be lengthy to be impactful.

The Diversity Movement does a really great job with their content, and making sure that you're still engaged in it. One of the things I'll call out are their MicroVideos. They are small videos that give you a piece of diversity, a piece of training, but in one or two minutes, so it's easy to consume. I think that's better than going through a two-hour or one-hour training.

I love the functionality of the TDM Library. It's pretty easy to find what topic of information I am looking for and if I can't figure it out, the search box helps SO MUCH!

When I first started working with The Diversity Movement, MicroVideos were part of the reason that convinced me that The Diversity Movement could work for our type of organization. You understood that frontline professionals, like my retail staff, are not going to have an hour to sit down and absorb something. They're on the move, and if they can watch something quickly while on their lunch break, that's great, and they're more willing to do that.

MicroVideos are fantastic. These sessions were an average of 3 mins., they were a good source for internal reflection, and motivated me to be more action-oriented in contributing to an inclusive workplace.
