Kaela Sosa
Gender Studies Specialist, Production Manager, Copyeditor, Inquiring MindKaela (she/her) is a Blue Devil through and through and graduated from Duke in 2018 with a degree in Psychology of Gender and Sexuality. The fact that she ended up as the Curriculum and Programming Manager at The Diversity Movement and Certified Diversity Executive feels both fateful and serendipitous, as she gets to apply her writing, project management, and production skills to topics near and dear to her heart.
Kaela previously worked as a researcher in Duke’s Identity and Diversity Lab and Eating Disorder Research Lab, working with individuals aged 4 to 50. Much of her time was spent researching and discussing topics related to biracial identities, gender expression, and the impact of gender on psychological well-being and interpersonal interactions.
Kaela is most proud to call herself a twin, a dog mom, a wife, and a fitness enthusiast.
Why DEI? Because I believe that identities are intricately complex and malleable, and that everyone has a unique experience and perception of the world around them. Individuals should not be persecuted for this or the resulting ways in which they describe and express themselves.
